FAQ's
The Motomounts Radar Alert System connects to your radar detector through the audio jack. When your radar detector picks up an alert, the Alert System activates simultaneously. Whether it’s detecting a laser gun, pole camera, red light camera, or radar, the Alert System emits distinct tones for different bands, just like your radar detector, ensuring you recognise the type of alert you're receiving.
You can then mute or lower the volume of the Alert System using the switch mounted on the left handlebar.
The Radar Alert System connects to your radars AUX- headphone jack (3.5mm).
Yes, we provide a detailed instruction manual that guides you step-by-step on how to connect the Radar Alert Module to switched power (your motorcycle's ignition). However, if you're not confident working with 12v systems, we recommend having a mechanic install it for you.
We include 3M tape pre applied to the Alert Module, Led Module and Piezo beeper.
Don't worry, we have already thought of this. When you turn your motorcycle on the Radar Alert System will emit a loud beep to indicate the system is activated.
Motomount product seems to be well manufactured - but a useful addition would be an intergrated power supply to the detector itself (the same wiring option as per the 'Adaptiv TPX 3' wiring loom)..
This kit enabled me to transform my radar detector from another fiddly bit of tech into a simple, functional, set and forget system. It enabling me to conceal my detector inside my bike’s headlight mask away from prying hands and eyes. This in turn means it is always on the bike and working, whether its short trip down the road of a multi-day ride. The only visible sign of a detector is the led repeater, and mute switch. A surprise feature was that the system gives a single chirp when the R4 does a voice announcement for fixed speed cameras or red-light cameras (stored in the detectors database). As I only have Ka band is enabled – its either silence or full on warning. No distracting false alarms. (The switch holder in the picture is a piece of right angle aluminum cut to fit).

Out for ride today & got my first real world response - very audible & led provided great visual alert! Very happy with the product.
Very happy will this product. I installed in an hour and the went for a test ride, picked up 3 radars. The R3 has some voice overs that you cannot disable but still works fine. Very happy.
This radar detector alert system is absolutely brilliant in every way possible. I have used the system on my motorcycle for over a year now, connecting it up to the DFR7NZ. The visual alert once installed at the right angle is something you cannot miss even in bright daylight. The number of times it has caught my attention to alert me of a radar detector ahead has totally been worth it. The Audio alert is loud enough with the piezo speaker screaming its head off alongside the light blinking away.
It has saved my bacon quite a few times and I would definitely carry the unit forward onto any motorcycle I would own in the future.
